Hands-on Coding in Dallas!

Tonight marks the kick-off meeting for the newest user group in the metroplex – Hands-On-Coding.

Unlike many of the excellent .NET community-based groups around, the goal of Hands-On-Coding is to learn .NET coding by doing. The format will consist of a short conceptual overview of a coding topic, followed by a series of interactive, hands-on, instructor-led lab exercises.

For the first meeting, C# MVP Sean Weisfeld will lead the group into a deep dive of Generics in .NET. During this meeting, attendees will write their own generic implementation of a generic method and generic collection, and then take some "sample" code and convert it to use generics.

Going forward, the group will meet every second Tuesday of the month, from 6 to 9 PM, at Improving Enterprises. To find out more about future meetings, make sure to visit their web site at www.hands-on-coding.net, and join their mailing list. While you’re visiting the web site, be sure to share your recommendations on how to make the group better, or land a comment here to let us know what you think!
